This is my personal Blog.  Someone was making a point about anonymity within the online 9/11 truth community the other day and I felt I could probably do more to flesh out who I am.

My real name is Stefan; it’s not a pseudonym. Everyone in the “real world” calls me Stef. While my full name has got out there on the internet (it wouldn’t take a Google detective long to find it) and I don’t keep it secret per se (most people who are seriously involved in 9/11 truth in the UK knows it), I prefer not to have it online. The reason for this is that as far as I know my family is the only one with that name in the world, so I am putting them at risk of stalking as much as myself.

I was born in Croydon, South London in 1978 of an English/Scottish mother and a Greek Cypriot father. I grew up there with two brothers and a sister in a Protestant family, but also had quite a bit of exposure to the Greek Orthodox Church from my dad’s side of the family. I never really believed in any of that though and stopped going to church around 12, 13 years old. I’m not an atheist, I just happen to think that no religion is correct and all of them represent a threat to free-thinking. I’m not opposed to people having religion though; if it helps them, no problem, so long as they don’t try and enforce their beliefs on me. I do find all religions fascinating though, and think there is some great wisdom in every one.

After Croydon I lived in Cardiff, Wales for six and a half years and Dublin, Ireland for two before returning to London. I now live in Sheppard’s Bush, West London and work for a large children’s charity in major value fund raising.

Drawing has always been my major passion but I also like writing and debating. For that reason I chose to study a dual degree of art and philosophy. My dissertation was on Kant’s theory of judgements of taste and how his notion of what beauty is still applies to art post-Duchamp. It’s still probably the best thing I’ve ever written. Despite starting university focussing largely on sarcastic conceptual art, I came back to ink drawing in my final year and for several years after university wrote, drew and self published an alternative comic book. I’d like to get back into that again but don’t find the time between activism, my job and a social life.

I was politicised by learning about the US/UK/CIA involvement in the coup/invasion/partition of Cyprus and by reading Joe Saco’s Palestine. I became a news junkie and through my 20s was obsessed with global politics and world events. After a long time of vehemently rejecting the view, in mid 2006 I finally accepted that 9/11 was an inside job. By process of researching to trying to disprove it to someone else, I proved it to my self.

I first got involved in the London group of the 9/11 Truth Campaign, which was more of a “conspiracy club” than an activist group. I found it very frustrating, but that’s all there was. I was voted in as national secretary of the UK Campaign in early 2007 and was completely burnt out by the nature of that campaign by the end of the year. It was around the end of the summer that year that I and nine other friends in the London group formed the first We Are Change group in the UK, first calling ourselves We Are Change UK, then changing to We Are Change London when other groups started up around the country. Gareth from the group later started a London Truth Action meetup and I was the first to join.

UPDATE:

A bit of a sad update to make is that I have recently withdrawn from both the London Truth Action and We Are Change London groups. I remain on good terms with all the people I have met and worked with. I made the decision to disassociate myself from the TruthAction brand a few weeks ago due to the divisive, damaging and frankly despicable behaviour of the clique who dominate the Truth Action forum. Unfortunately the lines have been blurred between WAC London And LTA to the extent that it seems to be impossible to work with WAC London without promoting a group which I feel is damaging the aims of 9/11 Truth. It was a difficult decision to make but one that I feel strongly in my gut was right.

It’s an odd juncture I find myself at. For the past three years the daily planning, debating and facilitation of awareness raising and activism has been an enormous part of my life and has taken the majority of my free time. There is a vacuum now and I don’t yet know what will fill it. My friends in We Are Change London are some of the most interesting, intelligent, talented and diverse people I have ever known. I’d describe every one of them as heroes in their own right. I’d like to thank Mohsin, Mykal, Veg, Jack, Andy, Dean, Simon, Al, Cat, Gareth, Nina, Roy, Carolyn, Twist, Douggie, Charlie, Daniel, Mike, Becky, Ollie and Ali (and of course Toseef who left the group a year ago but whose input to our development continued to play a large part in the group dynamic) for all they’ve brought to my life and salute them for their efforts to bring the truth about the war on terror and 9/11 to the people of London.

What I do next is very much unknown to me. But I will continue to analyse the war on terror, 9/11 and the “9/11 Truth Movement” from this blog.
